KT will blanket Jungmun Beach with its Wi-Fi signal this summer, along with 29 other beaches around the peninsula.
“Qook and Show Beach,” as KT calls it, will also run a free battery charging station for its smart phone subscribers.
KT has been heavily promoting its premium Wi-Fi network since it launched Apple’s iPhone in December. Some 25,000 Wi-Fi hot spots have been installed by KT with 2,000 more to be added to the network by September.
KT will tentatively provide the service through July and August but might extend the service after the vacation season.
To log on KT’s Wi-Fi network on the beach, customers need to subscribe to one of the KT’s smart phone data plans or obtain a temporary access code.
