Construction will start in November on a seawater swimming pool at Gwakji Gwamul Beach, Aewol-eup.
The province stated that villagers requested the pool to boost summer visitors and business in the area.
Although the size of the pool has not been released, it will be bigger than the current largest outdoor pool at Iho Beach, Jeju City, which measures 40m x 18m.
The Gwakji pool will include a water water slide and other leisure facilities including family rest areas. Its exact location on or around the beach has also not been released.
The village expects summer visitor numbers to increase once the pool is constructed.
Jeju City vowed to continue efforts to turn local beaches into premium tourist attractions by improving facilities across the island. |
