Jeju province has announced that it will support the construction of a library in Sikkim, a province in the mountainous region of northeast India.
Josoo Church in Hangyeong-myeon, west Jeju, have held the Josoo Biennial festival since 2006 with Jeju artists to combat illiteracy in the Indian region.
Last year the province bought a two-floor 264 square meter building with 50 million of ODA assistance. This year another 50 million won will be provided to stock the library.
The project totals 120 million won which includes the purchasing of land for a school, playground, and five classrooms.
A group of provincial officials will visit Sikkim next month to discuss the expansion of projects in the region.
