Want to make sure your money stays local? Want to buy a unique work of art made by the very hands of the market trader you’re haggling with? Then just show up at one of the many flea markets springing up across the island.

Not only can you find handmade and homegrown goods directly from Jeju artists and agriculturists, but you also stand a good chance of hearing some live music or even a performance.

Similar items can be found across the island reflect the expected fare for such markets including local jams, syrups and beverages made from Jeju mandarins, hallabong, strawberries and kiwi fruits. Freshly made bread is also often on offer so hunt out some special breads and pastries, carrot cakes and traditional Korean sweets.

Craft items are also widely available such as necklaces, bracelets and other accessories as well as handmade soaps, traditional clothing and unique artwork. Many of Jeju’s artists and craftspeople are passionate about the local culture so flea markets are often the best place to pick up a one-of-a-kind souvenir or keepsake.
