Kyushu Olle opened its 15th trail in March, just days after receiving the Sports Promotion Award from the Japan Sports Health Industries Federation for its role in boosting the local economy and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Working under the guidance of the Jeju Olle Foundation, Kyushu Olle opened in February 2012, and the 15 trails now cover 177.4 kilometers in all seven of Kyushu’s prefectures. It uses the same ganse, or pony symbol as Jeju Olle.
The 15th trail is located in Reihoku, a town of 7,800 on Shimo Island, Kumamoto Prefecture. The region is famed for its clay and pristine waters. |
