It was new manager Cho Seong Hwan's first game in charge and he will have been happy with his team's draw at Chunnam Dragons on Sunday, March 8, in the K League season opener.

With last year’s stars Hugo Droguett and Hwang Il Su both having left the team, Cho chose a new look front three with Brazilian Karanga leading from the centre, returning loanee Bae Ki Jong on the right and Kim Hyun on the left.

There was no space for fellow returnee Kang Su Il after his spell at Pohang or the other new Brazilian striker, Lopes.

Jeju played a direct counterattacking game and in the first half both Kim Hyun and Karanga had chances to open their accounts for the season.

Chunnam also had chances, but central defenders Alex and Oh Ban Seok dealt well with the physical presence of Stevica Ristic up front.

Jung Da Hwon broke the deadlock soon after half-time for Jeju. He cut in from the right after playing a nice one-two with Song Hyun Jin, before shooting past the Chunnam goalkeeper into the bottom right-hand corner.

However, after the goal, Chunnam went all-out attack and in the 79th minute Ristic equalized for Chunnam.
After a cut back from Ahn Young Woo, Ristic was quickest to react and he calmly slotted the ball home from inside the 6-yard box.

Jeju then added Park Su Chang (who scored four goals the last time he played Chunnam to their attack in the hope of finding a winner. However, it wasn't to be and, despite an end-to-end finale, the game finished 1-1.

Jeju United's opening home game of the 2015 season is this Sunday (March 15) at 4pm against Busan IPark at the Seogwipo World Cup Stadium.
