At ASIA-EU Cartoon Connection 2014 at Jeju Haevichi hotel & resort, Jeju culture products received great interest from global buyers and producers from 23 countries.

ASIA-EU Cartoon Connection is the official global event of the animation industry in the EU and Asia and Korean products were among those introduced for investment and purchase from Nov. 11 to 13.

Jeju Tourism Organization supported the event and promoted representative cultural tour providers and businesses in Jeju, and also organized business meetings to pioneer growth in the market.

Many industry officials visited lively public relations booths run by eight Jeju companies in the Event Hall and there was great interest in the character products inspired by Jeju culture.

Of particular note was the Cartoon Connection award given to the 3D animation company P&I system. The company will now be introduced to the European market at the 2015 cartoon forum.

A Jeju tourism official said “Many officials were surprised at the capability and uniqueness of Jeju’s unfamiliar culture and tourism products ... we are going to continue to support developement of new markets for regional companies.”
