Donnaeko Trail to Mt. Halla reopens after 15 year- rest period |
|
Jeju’s UNESCO World Heritage Management Office announced on Nov. 15 that Mt. Halla Donnaeko Trail would reopen on Dec. 4, after a 15 year-rest period. As well as the current 4 trails, Gwaneumsa, Eorimok, Yeongshil and Seongpanak, to climb Mt. Halla, the newly reestablished 9.1 km course would enable climbers to take in different vistas of the mountain. To celebrate, Seogwipo City is to host a special reopening ceremony on the trails inaugural day that is estimated to be attended by 700 hikers and local residents. Seogwipo City is in the final preparation phase of the celebration, which includes the construction of a new parking lot and other amenities. |
