To position Jeju as an international hub for cruise tourism, the 2014 Asia Cruise Forum Jeju will be held in Jeju in August. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province seeks to build on last year’s success with up to 1,000 delegates from major cruise lines and related companies expected to attend. Hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, this forum has been rebranded as the 2014 Asia Cruise Forum Jeju, organized by Jeju Tourism Organization and Creativity Institute. The delegates will gather between Aug. 27-29 under the slogan “New Wave of Asia Cruise Tourism,” and the forum is expected to be a premier cruise event in the expansion of Asian cruise tourism. The 2014 Asia Cruise Forum Jeju will also hold the regular general meeting of ACTA (Asia Cruise Terminal Association) alongside small-scale conferences, business meetings and promotional booths. The drive to make Jeju a cruise hub is well underway and is being led by provincial tourism chiefs and the forum organizing committee, which is preparing the full event program.
