A Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) tour program and Mount Sanbang-Yongmeori Beach Trail tour have been launched to introduce geotourism as part of Jeju’s UNESCO Global Geoparks framework. The JTO will hold four events between January and March as part of the “UNESCO Global Geoparks major village promotion.” They four routes are: Manjanggul Cave-Seongsan Sunrise Peak, Jusangjeolli Cliffs-Seogwipo Stratum-Cheonjiyeon Falls, Mount Sanbang-Yongmeori Beach and Suwol Peak.
In addition, JTO is also holding the Mount Sanbang-Yongmeori Beach trail tour. This storytelling trail totals 30 k.m. connecting Sagye-ri, Deoksu-ri and Hwasun-ri including many historical sites which are connected to Jeju’s legends and mythology.
With a focus on telling Jeju’s rich history as well as conventional guided tours, it is hoped that Jeju geotourism can help visitors understand both the geological and cultural history of Jeju Island.
More tours will be available in the future. For more information: 064-740-6086 |
