A two—floor international terminal with a waiting room. lounge and duty free shop will be constructed in Jeju Outer Port over 48,237 square meters by 2015. Jeju had a groundbreaking ceremony and the new construction began on Nov, 26. HanWha Engineering and Construction Corp. Consortium is in charge of the construction.
Officials claim the inclusion of Tamna-themed tourism at Tamna Culture Plaza will allow international and domestic cruise tourists to see, feel, and enjoy authentic Jeju culture. This will ensure an economic boom for local tourism through the preservation of local culture and creating a new tourist space. A provincial offical said, “This development will contribute to local citizens’ incomes and the themed street will allow citizens to buy natural products and tourists will be able to experience the culture of Jeju”.
Governer Woo said, “After completion of the international terminal, it will cut the immigration time by half and by extending tourists’ stay on Jeju, will contribute to related industries and commerce.”
