This was a special day in Jeju because the seventh Jeju Global Foreign Language Festival was held at Jeju Students Cultural Center by the Jeju Provincial Office of Education.
Many students visited the festival and looked around many kinds of booths.
There were a foreign woman whose name is Jenny. She is 24 years old, was born and raised in Canada. She has lived in Jeju for about 8 months now. Her job at the booth was face painting. She was satisfied with her job, “I think that this program can help Korean students to learn other cultures.”
At the booth, ‘The Jeju Weekly’, a director of the festival, named Kang Won Hyo said, “This program has been held for 7 years. I think today's program was based on high school club activities, because most of high schools in Jeju joined the festival. This program can help students develop the ability to speak a foreign languages and take an interest in other cultures.”
He expressed regret for there not being more booths.“The budget for the festival was not enough to operate some booths. So some booths couldn’t run this time…Therefore next time I will try to raise the budget so that more booths are be available.”
There were many people visiting, enjoying the day, and the booths were crowded with visitors.
