Nowadays, our world is rapidly changing into one community: a global village.
On November 1st, 2013, in Jeju Students Cultural Center, JDC Junior Journalists had a booth representing Jeju's only English newspaper, the Jeju Weekly, and hosted various activities.
One of the features of this festival was to find the hidden talents of students and to provide an opportunity to help understand the world's cultures.
I asked one participant, Narathe “What do you think about this festival of many experiences?”
“I think it is a good idea because it has various cultures”, she answered.
And her most interesting activity was to eat marshmallows after a game of table tennis. Also, she said “Japanese culture was the most unique.”
After Lunch, we met one male foreigner called Harold from the USA. He is the teacher for Nohyeong middle school's English conversation class.
He said "The best thing about this festival was the chance for students to get some fresh time in here."
Finally, we interviewed the person in charge of this big event, Kang Wonyo.
During the preparations, he felt happy. It may be hard work planning the festival.
But unexpected, he said he is “not tired, it is all worthwhile.”
He hopes the all of Jeju's students become interested in foreign languages and develop their abilities. |
