Inland tax refund counter installed at Jeju airport

Foreign tourists buying products through duty free shops can now apply for a refund on individual consumption tax and value-added tax at an inland tax refund counter before their departure.

The counter has been installed in the waiting room of the Jeju International Airport, providing convenience and cutting red tape.

Tourists can use the service when they purchase over 30,000 won in products at the domestic duty free shop and export them to a foreign country within three months.

The amount of internal tax refunded has increased by 26% compared to the same period of last year and now tops 300 million won per year.
