There are times when no matter how well something is described to us, we just cannot fully comprehend - or trust - what we are told until we see for ourselves. At such times, Jeju people say:
“Go-lang mol-la bwa-seo al-ju.”
(“°í¶û ¸ô¶ó ºÁ¼ ¾ËÁÖ”)
Comparable English expressions include “seeing is believing,” or “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Roughly translated it is: “I don’t know by hearing, but I know by seeing.”
