Foreigners and locals alike are invited to run for a good cause.
The Second Beautiful Jeju International Marathon will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 27 at Jeju Kujwa.
Hosted by Tamna University, Beautiful Store and Jejusori, the Beautiful Jeju International Marathon is a charity race in which all the entry fees are donated for the benefit of southwest Asians suffering from disasterous yearly floods.
The course starts at Gujwa Life Sports Park at Gimnyeong Beach and ends at Jongdal seashore road. There are four categories in which marathoners can participate: Full course (42.195 km), Half course (21.0975 km), 10 km course, and 5 km course.
Anyone 17 or older and in good health can participate in the full and half marathons, and anyone 7 or older can participate in the 10 km course; those under 7 are only allowed in the 5 km course.
There is an opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m. and the warm-up starts at 8:45 a.m. At 9 a.m. sharp, the marathon begins for those participating in the full and half courses, with participants in the 10 km and 5 km course starting at 9:10 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. The awards ceremony begins at 11 a.m. for the 10 km course; 12 p.m. for the half course and 1:30 p.m. for the full course.

Applications are being accepted through Aug. 24. To apply go to http://marathon.jejusori.net/join/join_1.php, or apply by email at webmail@jejusori.net or by fax at (064) 747-7689).
The cost to enter is 15,000 won for the 5 km; 20,000 for the 10 km; 25,000 for the half and 30,000 for the full marathon.
