The tourist inflow from Japan is expected to rise after new eco-friendly tour products were launched exclusively for Japanese tourists. Jeju provincial government will hold a Geomun Oreum trekking event on Aug. 24 in conjunction with Korea Tourism Organization, which would benefit about 100 Japanese tourists.

The Geomun Oreum trekking course was selected as one of the best 20 eco-tour programs in April, 2009 by the Ministry of Environment, Korea. The trekking course draws a growing number of visitors wanting to understand its eco-diversity while taking in its beauty. In addition, starting Oct. 4, the “Jeju Olle Slow Walking” event, a newly emerging eco-tour product is also expected to draw more people to the island.
