Jeju Island has invited overseas buyers to initiate a billion-won exportation era, opening new doors to the export trade market.
Organized by Jeju Techno Park Inc. Foundation under the auspices of the Jeju province and the Jeju branch of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the “2010 Overseas Buyer Invitation Export consultation Session” will be held at the Ramada Plaza Jeju from Oct. 25 to Oct. 27.
This consultation session is different from previous exhibitions and trade delegation dispatches in that the overseas buyers are directly invited to Jeju for one-on-one consultation with local enterprises.
The export consultation session will feature 56 buyers representing 52 businesses from eight countries, including China, Japan, and the US. Such invitation was advised by the preliminary market analysis of the KOTRA Korea Business Center and 51 local exporting enterprises pertaining to fields of grocery, home appliances, cosmetics, and etc.
Since the buyers were carefully selected according to preference research on displayed items, the event is expected to generate actual exportation contract deals.
Jeju Provincial Government Economic Policy Director, Oh Tae Moon, said “To differentiate from previous events, at the export consultation session site will be featured exhibition and taste-testing segments where overseas buyers can see and sense for themselves; it will lead to exportation.”
Overall, this will be the fourth annual export consultation session since 2007. Since its inception 169 Jeju enterprises and 129 buyers from 24 countries have accomplish 40 on-site contract deals, accounting for 694 consultations and 742 million dollars.
