Photo contest calls for best shots of Jeju |
|
Got a shot of Hallasan in winter that has drawn rave reviews, or maybe the perfect photo of sunrise over Seongsan Ilchulbong? Or perhaps your best Jeju moment is still waiting to be captured.
Now’s your chance to share those beautiful photos with more than your family and friends on facebook. The First International Jeju World Natural Heritage Photograph Competition starts May 1 and runs through June 1.
The “Embrace Jeju Island” photo contest is sponsored by the Jeju World Heritage Management Office and is open to Koreans and foreigners alike. The subject is Jeju’s World Natural Heritage Sites (Hallasan, Jeju lava tubes and Seongsan Ilchulban), and photos can be color or black and white.
There is no entry fee and participants can submit up to five original photos, shot with either a digital or film camera.
Grand prize is $7,400 USD, Gold prize is $3,750 USD, Silver is $1,480 USD, Bronze is $740, and 50 “successful competitors” will take home $148 USD each. Two silver prizes will be awarded, and three bronzes.
Winners will be announced in June. Winning photos will be actively promoted through online and offline photo exhibitions beginning in July.
