It has been much discussed that the deployment of THAAD in Korea has not been well-received by China. While Korea and the US say that THAAD is simply a protection against the chance of missiles from North Korea, China is worried that they could be used to target China in an attack.

Let's check out the opinion from the Chinese Newspaper, The Global Times.

"If the THAAD deployment makes both Korea and the United States safer can China and Russia stop their sanctions against North Korea?"

"The United Nations Security Council is still discussing sanctions against North Korea. In this situation, the unity of the international community is very important. But how self-centered is it from both Korea and the US to continue pursuing the deployment of Thaad while not considering the strategic security benefits of both China and Russia? Did the Korean conservatives become stupid because they eat too much kimchi?"

"Since the North Korea’s nuclear issue wasn’t resolved, China is as urgent as Korea. In order to strengthen the sanctions against North Korea, the relationship between China and North Korea is constantly cooling down, and we are also the largest provider of international sanctions and pressure to North Korea. However, the Korea and the US are expecting North Korea to realize it themselves, and are trying not to sacrifice the interests of the Korean peninsula and retaliate against China and Russia. Is this really what you are trying to solve the North Korean nuclear issue?"

"South Korea says North Korea is extreme. Yes. We also think that North Korea's nuclear weapons are extreme. But Korea also needs to know that you are changing at the same time extreme. Both China and Russia oppose the THAAD deployment. Because THAAD will be a malignant tumor that disturbs regional strategic peace like North Korea's nuclear weapons, and Korea will put itself on the giant plate of bigger giants like a gambling board."

"When the THAAD deployment is over, Korea will lose the last one strategic independence, and Korea will become frog rice between the North Korean nuclear crisis and the major powerful countries. The Thaad will not only be the hostage of North Korea, but will also be a strategic target for both China and Russia."

"The North Korean nuclear issue is very difficult, but it is not only South Korea facing difficulty. Will China not also worry about the safety of the Northeast region? I would like Korea to know one thing. If a war breaks out in a confused confrontation situation, the first thing to get damaged after a war is the one that showed off their power."
