Jeju Province will take special measures to prevent forest fires this month.
The Meteorological Administration forecast that it will be dry and hot nationwide throughout April, raising alarms about the high chances of fires in the mountains.
In April, fires are also caused by those visiting their ancestral graves or those burning agricultural waste.
In the case of a fire, the provincial authorities will have the ability to mobilize a helicopter, 28 fire engines, and 110 firefighters as well as 125 guards to extinguish the fire within 30 minutes.
The province will also remove agricultural waste and plastic waste while preparing preventive TV programs.
A provincial official said anyone incinerating trash in or near a forest against the law will be strictly punished.
