With the slogan “Sharing the moment!” Jeju Stay Biuda, a guesthouse and restaurant in Seogwipo, will hold a special music concert as part of the “One Day Festival” on Saturday, July 12, at 7 p.m.
The festival is intended to foster cultural exchange between Korea, China and Japan and help overcome historical and ideological conflict. Over 100 events will be held concurrently across the three countries orchestrated by artists and cultural leaders.
All senses touched by the deep double bass
The concert will take the form of a “house concert” by double bassist Min Jea Sung. This form of concert was popularized by musician Park Chang Soo when he held a salon concert at his home. At Jeju Stay Biuda the audience will be seated on the floor at the closest possible distance from the artist allowing the performers and audience to mingle and share their feelings in an intimate space.
Double bassist Min Jea Sung
Min Jea Sung was born in Seoul and he learnt the double bass from his father at age 10. He soon showed great potential and won many international awards. At 16 he became the youngest to win the 2006 Johann-Matthias-Sperger International Double Bass Competition in Germany.
