I want my family members to be healthy in 2012. I will keep trying to achieve my personal dreams and goals. I hope I can study harder this year and continue to get along with my friends.

My family’s health is always first. I hope nothing too bad happens this year.

Chris Lewis
English teacher
For 2012 my personal goals are to kind of figure out what I want to do after teaching English.
It is a fun time learning about things, meeting new people, learning a bit about the culture, learn a little language, though I’m struggling and failing at that constantly. I probably should hit the gym a little bit.
For Korea and Jeju as a whole, hopefully more Koreans wanting to interact with foreigners on a daily basis.

Bae Ji Won

Graduate student
I need to find a direction for my life in 2012. Personally, my New Year’s resolution is to find a hobby. There are many events that can possibly change the world, such as the presidential election. I hope everyone makes the right decision and makes the world a better place.

Lee Sang Min
Hair stylist
First of all, I don’t want the world to end. I hope my family stays healthy and well. Also, I want my career to be a great success in 2012.

Kang Dong Un

University student
As I will be graduating this year, I wish to get a job soon. Plus, the health of my family and friends is important. Also, I want this cold weather to warm up soon.

Lee Seon A
University graduate
Because I’ll be leaving to another country this month, I won’t be able to see my family and friends in 2012. I hope my friends, family, and myself stay safe and healthy this year. I hope I can adapt to the new country well. Also, a handful of political issues arose last year, but I want them to be solved well. Happy New Year everyone!

Interviews conducted on Jan. 1 and Jan. 2 by Angela Kim. They have been translated, edited, and condensed for clarity.
