‘Jeju United truly deserves this moment’After a grueling season, victory draws near with Sunday’s final in Seoul |

The most momentous moment of Jeju’s most momentous season (yet!) came in the 76th minute of Sunday’s semi final clash with reigning playoff and league champions Jeonbuk Motors.
The moment in question was when striker Daniel Neco smashed a low right foot shot from the edge of the area and into Jeonbuk’s net. Jeju’s buildup was gradual, but instead of the half chances and hopeful crosses we’d seen earlier in the day, this time the end result was an emphatic life affirming signal of just how far United have come.
The majority of the game was relatively uneventful as tense one-off games are wont to be. Jeju had the better of the possession and Jeonbuk had slightly better chances.

Truly, though, this is the least Jeju deserve.
They finished 8 points above Jeonbuk in the league and if anyone has the right to challenge Seoul for the championship through a playoff system it’s the team which pushed them so hard in the league proper.
Jeju will play the first leg of the championship finals at home on Dec. 1 with the second being held in Seoul on Dec. 5. This really is an uphill struggle especially with Seoul at home for the Second leg. Jeju will first be aiming not to concede an away goal in the first game and if possible make the trip to the capital with a one or two goal cushion. If they can do that then maybe, just maybe, Sunday will see Jeju crowned Korean champions.
