When: 8am - 11:30pm (Mondays closed)

Menu: A noodle specialist, the signature dish is meat (pork) noodles (“gogi guksu”) but they are also famed for their “momguk” (gulfweed and pork broth) and “sundae gukbap” (blood sausage soup and rice).

Prices: 4,000-6000 won

Taste: Although not far from “Noodle Street,” Yesodam beats its more famous competitors for taste. Not only are the momguk and gogiguksu as honest as meals come, but the side dishes alone suffice to fill up on in taste and portion size.

Service: Expect to wait 10 or 15 minutes at peak times. Although busy, the staff are warm and welcoming when their hands aren’t full.

Interior: Nothing special in this traditional-style restaurant with floor and table seating. As expected, the wooden walls are adorned with signatures of famous patrons down the years.

Atmosphere: The sound of brisk and healthy trade, expect to hear shouts from customers and staff and the clanging of plates in the open kitchen.
