If you want to feel Jeju’s traditional mood and buy something cheaper than the prices of E-mart or Lotte Mart, you should visit the 5-day market.

In reality, if you visit the special 5-day market, you can feel people’s emotions which feel very good. And there are lots of foods that we can easily eat. The 5-day market’s vegetables and fruits are so fresh that even my mother often goes there.

We can even get a discount on the products’ prices. For example, I bought a small tree which was very beautiful. And I got it with almost a 30 percent discount.

Jeju City Traditional 5-Day market is located in Dodu-dong in Jeju City. The market began 109 years ago in 1905 in the Gwandeokjeong area and is one of Jeju’s largest markets. It can be very crowded while walking around, and in some areas it is hard to walk due to crowds.

While interviewing merchants on Oct. 12, Park-Seok bum, who sells beautiful and naturally dyed clothing. He said that he started selling goods in June 2013 and he said an advantage of the 5-day market is that it has everything we need to have fun and there is plenty of sightseeing and bargains to be had.

Jeju City Traditonal 5-Day Market opens on the 2nd and 7th of the month.
