The Jeju Aerospace Museum (JAM) opened on April 14th, 2014 . JAM combines education and entertainment based on aviation and space. Many people visit JAM to see a lots of planes and to enjoy new experiences such as the 5D movie and space simulators where visitors learn how to control and fly airplanes.

JAM has several parts in its exhibition hall. One exhibition is the Aviation History Section. It exhibits 35 real air planes which are hanging from the ceiling as well as sitting on the ground. There are many planes with different purposes, including the fighter and trainer aircrafts. The tour guide stated that “When someone named an air plane, its name is connected the planes purpose. The fighter named named like F-15, F-51 and each plane gets their own nickname, as well.”

Another exhibition is called the Astronmical Space Section. It shows the history of astronomy, space’s development process including the solar system, our galaxy, and black holes. This section can see the history of Korea’s astronomical and the mystery of how the universe was created. Many flight and space activites were prepared.

A man named Lim Hyun Su who lives Seogwipo said the JAM is very clean and filled with lots of enjoyablel things. Many vistors thought that JAM is helpful for the local Jeju people and would bring out Korea’s competitiveness in the fields of flight and space..

The Jeju Aerospace Museum is opened from 9:00am to 6:00pm on weekdays, Sundays, and public holidays. The hours are 9:00am to 9:00pm on Saturdays and all days of the summer season (June 20th to August 31st). The museum is closed on the first and third Mondays of each month (If the preceding Monday is a public holiday closed on the following day instead).
