Name: Sushi Tomodachi
Where:Ido 2-dong 1772-3. Tel.: 064-901-2888. (Take the Dunkin Donuts side road in City Hall and the restaurant is on left a couple of doors down. It is on the second floor.)
When: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. (except Mondays)
Menu: Conveyor belt or revolving sushi. Includes sashimi and noodles, along with some pleasant surprises, such as salads and sweets.
Taste: This is sushi that hits the spot - for the masses, not the connoisseur. The fish is fresh, although often drenched in sweet sauce. Presentation is not top priority.
Price: Fair: 1,300 - 1,500 won per plate.
Interior: It’s all about bums on seats - every inch of every pyeong has been exploited. Sit at the bar with the conveyor under your chin or at a table with it to the side.
Atmosphere: This is not the place to have a leisurely lunch and muse over a post-meal coffee - the conveyor doesn’t stop and neither should you. Queues form at lunchtime
Staff: Quick and efficient. Once seated there is no need to exchange words until the check is paid. They could be lovely, but who knows?
